Technical trade skills training for youths

TotalEnergies EP PNG signed an MoU with Port Moresby Technical College in 2019 as part of its Workforce Development Program to sponsor training opportunities for youths from the Gulf Province, the host province for the Papua LNG Project.
The first two cohorts of 80 youths undertook National Certificate 1, 2 and 3 trade courses over a two-year period. 70 successfully completed the course at the end of 2021. 35 trainees graduated in the trade field of Building Construction and 35 in Mechanical Fitting and Machining.

Another cohort of 60 trainees have begun the program in 2022. Trade areas include Heavy Equipment Fitting, Fabrication and Welding, Plumbing, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration, Electrical and Instrumentation. 
The student have already commenced registration since February. This is the 3rd batch since the inception of the program in 2019. A total of 72 students under the 1st and 2nd Batch undertook the training program (49 males and 22 females) and successfully completed their National Certificates Level 3 training. They will be graduating on March 23rd 2022.

Marine cadet skills training for youths

On July 2019, TotalEnergies EP PNG signed MoU with Pacific Project Logistics Limited (PPL) as part of their Workforce Development Program to sponsor maritime training at Pacific Maritime Training College for youths from the Gulf Province.
In December 2019, the 10 youths completed the Basic Seamanship course. In July 2022, they have returned to Port Moresby to undergo 2 weeks refresher training before being employed full-time by TWL.
An additional 10 youths will be recruited during 2022 to undertake of this maritime training program.
